First appeared in the spotlight after joining the cast of the popular T.V. show Hannah Montana. Shortly after she joined the show a soundtrack for the show was released, in which Miley sang eight songs. Forbes Magazine currently estimates that she makes roughly $3.5 million a year.

Coming from Franklin, Tennessee. Miley is the daughter of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus. Miley comes from a large family, with many relatives connected to the music industry. One of her brothers, Trace Cyrus is the vocalist and guitarist for the band Metro Station. Cyrus went to school at Heritage Middle School, but now has a private tutor.

Miley first became interested in acting after she had moved to Toronto Canada at the age of nine. She got her first big acting job playing a guest star on her fathers TV show Doc. In 2003 she got her first big movie role, playing “Young Ruthie,” in Tim Burton’s Big Fish.
At the age of twelve she auditioned for a part in the Disney series Hanna Montana, but at first Disney executive discounted he because they though she was “too small.” However Disney executives later reconsidered and called her back for more auditions due to Miley’s persistent personality, as well as he lively personality.
In the end Disney executive decided to use Miley for one of the lead roles, however she had to work to loose her southern accent, only to relearn it when Disney later decided that they wanted her to bring it back.
Miley Cyrus is also currently working on The Hannah Montana Movie, which is due to be released around May1, 2009.

04.25, 08, TV show “Entertainment Tonight” said that Miley had posed topless for a photo shoot for “Vanity Fair” magazine.
